เมื่อวันที่ ๑๘ พฤศจิกายน ๒๕๕๓ ที่โรงเรียนบ้านหาญฮี อำเภอรัตนบุรี จังหวัดสุรินทร์ เด็กหญิงคนหนึ่งยืนขึ้นเล่าเรื่องเป็นภาษาอังกฤษ และได้รับรางวัลเหรียญทอง

On 18 November 2010, at Ban Han Hee School in Rattanaburi, Surin, a primary-school girl stood up and told a story in English. She won gold. The competition was งานศิลปหัตถกรรมนักเรียน, the Student Arts and Crafts Competition, which has run in Thai schools for decades. Her teacher was Mrs. Jongkol Jindathanaphas, whose name is on the certificate beside her own.

The name on that certificate is Ploypailin Moonsri. She is my wife, and this site is named after her.

She grew up speaking Isan. Every AI she has ever used answered her in Bangkok Central Thai, as though the way she speaks at home were a mistake to be corrected. That is the entire reason ploy.com exists — and why the first thing it does is work out which Thailand you are from before it opens its mouth.

A wrong guess is worse than none — answering a Bangkok user in Isan reads as mockery. Detection requires a minimum score and a margin over the runner-up, so shared markers (บ่ is both Isan and Northern) can never decide alone, and a message of one or two words is never enough. Central Thai words that merely contain a dialect marker — สิทธิ, กะทิ, บ่อย, มักจะ, สิบ, กะเพรา — are removed before scoring.

Comparison is deterministic and free — numbers with units, years and yes/no polarity are extracted and compared directly, so this stage cannot itself hallucinate. Thai digits (๑,๙๐๐) are normalised first, and a Buddhist-era year restated as CE (2567 / 2024) is not counted as a disagreement. Status: designed and specified, not yet running on live answers. Today a question goes to one model and the answer names which one.

Someone who says they do not want to be alive any more is answered gently and given 1323, the free 24-hour mental health line — that check runs ahead of every other category. Questions about the monarchy are declined outright and said so plainly: Section 112 exposure is real, and a truth service that quietly deflects is worse than one that tells you where it will not go.
